Woman in the White Dress

Yesterday I attended the CHAT event called "Woman in the White Dress" about American poet Emily Dickinson. I thought the presentation was very interesting. I have read a few of Dickinson's poems in past but had never learned about her personal life. I found it interesting that Dickinson attended college but decided to drop out. She never married and lived at home with her parents her entire life. She absolutely loved writing, but was forced to write less later in life due to her vision worsening. Dickinson was a very interesting peron who kept her life very mysterious. Overall, I loved the presentation!

Random Spring Break Thoughts

While everyone here at Trine is gushing about where they are going for spring break I will just be going home to work, UGH. Oh well I guess it won't be terrible and at least I will be making a little extra money.

Happy Monday!

Keep forgetting about this thing..... oops!
Lately I've been super busy with midterms and projects, I've hardly had any time for anything else but school. I'm getting my car back tomorrow after a month of it being the shop, cannot wait. It'll be nice not to have to walk and get rides from people!

It's Official!

The Aquinas library
I got the letter in the the mail last week! I am officially attending Aquinas College for the Fall 2013 semester. I'm excited as I have been homesick the last semester or two and Aquinas is in my hometown. I will be moving out of my parents house, but not living on campus so it will be my first time actually being on my own. I'm a little nervous, but my parents house is only a 5-7 minute drive away. I will be glad to be back to the somewhat hustle and bustle of Grand Rapids, Michigan. And it will be nice to have a mall 10 minutes away! Aquinas is around the same size as Trine, but its largest major is education which is perfect for me. My dad is pretty excited about me going there as well since he is an alumni and my older brother Gentry attends school there.

Rainy Day

It's a rainy day in Angola and everything seems more dreary than usual. I am unmotivated to do anything today. All I want to do is curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and watch movies.
